- Versatile Fit: These channels work with nearly any window setup—whether you install them inside or outside the frame. They also adjust to fit blackout shades between 1-1/4 inches and 2 inches thick.

Side Channels for Roller Shades offer two mounting options: Removable Version for flexibility or aPermanent Version for a secure, long-term fit on your wall or window frame.
The Removable Version uses magnetic adhesive strips, allowing you to easily take it off and reattach it. This makes it convenient for tasks like cleaning tilt-in windows or removing screens.
The Permanent Version uses a strong double-sided tape that securely holds it in place. While it’s not designed to be removed, if you do need to take it down, it can be pulled off with little to no damage to your wall surface. However, once removed, the tape cannot be reused.

Determine whether your blackout shade is an Inside Mount (installed inside the window frame) or an Outside Mount (installed outside the frame). The location of the mounting strip depends on this choice. When placing your order, you’ll have the option to select either an inside or outside mount.
Your side channels will arrive as two separate tracks, making it much easier to trim them to the right size before assembly. The mounting tape is pre-applied at our factory, so all you need to do is stick the tracks together following the diagrams below.
